Teachers and counselors know underage drinking is a serious problem. More adolescents drink than smoke or use drugs. The Sobriety Rocks Scholarship Contest is an opportunity for teens to talk to each other about this issue and to compete for $1,000 scholarships in four categories: music, art, writing and commercial. You can help.

• Start a conversation in your classroom, or with individual students or student groups, about the dangers and consequences of underage drinking and why teens drink.
• Encourage your students to use their creative talents for a good cause.
• Print and hang posters in your school.
• Print and make available rules and entry forms.
